________________________________ Highlighting Susan Elko: Long Serving Board Member to New Advisory Board Member ![]() ![]() ![]() The Community Coalition has had outstanding board members in its 30 year history, and that includes current committee member Susan Elko. Susan has been an integral part of The Community Coalition since 2012, serving three consecutive terms as a Board member and now as a member of The Community Coalition’s Advisory Committee. Susan is described by her peers as professional, insightful, and always prepared. The Community Coalition’s former president Eliza Zimmerman stated, “During my presidency, Susan was a confidante and mentor. Her support and calm wisdom meant a lot to me.”
Susan served on multiple committees as a board member over the past nine years, and now provides further mentorship and guidance as a member of the Advisory Committee. Her work in the nonprofit world is notable and as a result was given the Kitchen Table award during her tenure at the Fund for Women and Girls. Co-founder and former president of The Community Coalition, Moira Mumma, described Susan time on the Board, “We were all so lucky that she brought those gifts and skills to the Community Coalition board…there’s no one you’d rather have on your team than Susan!” We thank Susan for her commitment to our mission and look forward to her new role as an advisor. 30th Anniversary Gala At the Union League of Philadelphia ![]() ![]() ![]() You are cordially invited to The Community Coalition’s 30th Anniversary Gala honoring Franny Abbott and Eliza Zimmerman. It’s a Wrap on the Vintage Market & The Community Coalition Day Thank you to everyone who joined us on August 15th for our Vintage Market & The Community Coalition Day. We had over 150 guests who explored the Mill at Anselma, shopped the vintage market sales, and learned more about The Community Coalition’s work in Chester County. We had perfect weather for the vintage market and scavenger hunt, and the food vendors offered delicious beer, tacos, and mini cakes. This was our first vintage market, and we look forward to making this an annual event and make a further impact on the community we serve.
