Citizen Advocates are asked to promote, protect and defend the welfare and interests of, and justice for, people with disabilities who are diminished in status or seriously physically or emotionally isolated. Through building a personal relationship and creating trust, advocates are particularly active on behalf of their partners in the most basic areas of safety, health, housing, employment and education.
Open Hearth is a non-profit organization dedicated to furthering the lives of Chester County citizens. They offer many services from housing, transportation, to free financial workshops. Orion Communities is located in the heart of Phoenixville and assists residents all across Chester County. They offer interim case management for families experiencing crisis, technology resource management to help people find jobs, write resumes, and call service agencies. Staff is on hand during open hours, so come on in, the door is open.
PAPA has been an important part of developing young minds in Phoenixville since 1995. They offer many programs (contact your school to see if you qualify) available through the school district.
